Kusasira's Why
My Vision
To transform poultry farming into a source of nourishment, economic opportunity, and empowerment for rural Ugandan communities — starting one chicken at a time.
Kusasira’s Chicken Farm is more than a poultry business — it will be a community-driven initiative dedicated to improving lives through sustainable agriculture in Uganda.
What began as a small personal project fueled by Kusasira’s love for chickens has now grown into a bold vision: to build a thriving chicken farm that creates jobs, ensures food security, and empowers the local community, especially women and youth.
In Uganda and many parts of Africa, poultry farming is one of the most accessible and profitable agricultural ventures. Chickens require relatively low startup costs and space, making them ideal for small-scale farmers, especially in rural areas.
Why Chickens
With the right support, a chicken farm can quickly scale to provide:
Affordable, nutritious food
Eggs and chicken are essential sources of protein, vital for combating malnutrition and improving family health, especially among children.Stable income for families
Chicken farming offers a dependable stream of income from the sale of eggs, meat, and manure — helping families pay for school fees, healthcare, and basic needs.Jobs and skills training
As the farm grows, it will create employment for local youth and women, offering hands-on training in animal husbandry, business management, and sustainable farming.
